Day 5: Power 90

Bright beautiful sunny day out today, so I started the day off with a 3 mile walk on the rail trail pushing the jogging stroller & my youngest.  Left leg hurt somewhat at 1st, but worked its way out by the time I got done.  Guess it was just the waking up stiffness from the 3 almost 4 miles I walked yesterday.  & then after getting home from the walk I managed to still get in Day 5: strength training in.  I didn't use the new weights today though, after 2 days off from them, I wanted to start out the week with them & see how things go.  I plan on using them on Wednesday & then the resistance bands on Friday.  I actually felt so burnt out today that I fell asleep on the couch while my youngest was napping.  All in All today was a good day I think.  Let's see how I feel for tomorrow.

Saturday & Sunday

Saturday was a busy day with the kids.  First off was cheerleading registration for my oldest, the swimming lessons for my son, then off to Hershey to visit Chocolate world & then surprising my youngest with Disney on Ice, then home to grab the baseball glove & off to my son's litle league baseball evaluation for this season.  Phew!!  I was beat by the time we got home & I believe the kids were also as they actually left me sleep in until 8:15am when usually they are up by 6:30-7am.  So therefore I didn't get the chance to try my Day 4 cardio again from Fri, but my legs were still a little sore, so it might have been a good thing for them to rest up, so I am guessing that I am using Saturday as my rest day this week even though I was still pretty busy with the kids all day.


Sunday was not as busy at all, but it was a gorgeous day out!!  Got all the kids outside to play by noon where we stayed until about 1:30 when I decided to go for a walk with my youngest in the jogging stroller, son on his bike, & my oldest walking with me.  We went for 1.39 mile walk around our house here, before having to head back to the house to try & get the baby to lay down for her nap, so she could stay home while I ran my oldest to her tennis practice.  I decided today that while she was at practice I was going to go for a nice walk also, well that walk ended up being a 2.44 mile walk for a total of 3.83 miles today.  We got home to a nice dinner being ready off the grill, then it was time to get the kids their baths & in bed to start the school week.  With all the walking today & I am planning on going for another nice long walk again tomorrow, I am not sure if I will try to do day 4 over again or just go ahead with day 5 for the strength training & then just add the ab ripper to that to get some ab work in.  Guess we'll see what tomorrow does bring & how I feel.  Oh I also went out & bought heavier dumbbells to use as I was able to do all the reps (15) without a struggle last time & without my arms being so sore unlike when I first did the workout with the resistance bands.  Might have to make sure I use them 1 day a week, but also make sure it's the last one to do before the rest day to give an extra day of healing to them.

Day 4: Power 90

Well let's just say Day 4 was a total flop!!! My legs kill horribly today!  At times it hurts to fully straighten them.  My shoulders, abs, & back are doing pretty good, just every now & then they'll let me know their still sore though. I tried doing the cardio as I was supposed to today but by 10 minutes into it, I was in tears from my muscles hurting from the 1st go round of the cardio.  I decide not to injure myself by forcing me to get thru it, but to go out for a walk instead, which I did.  I walked 2.27 miles this evening.   I plan on trying the cardio tomorrow to see if it goes any easier, but I also have a very busy day with this kids for cheerleading registration for my oldest, swimming lesson for my son, & a special early birthday for my youngest who will be 2 in June at Disney on Ice-Mickey & Minnie's Adventure, then my son's baseball skills evaluation after that before headed home.

Day 3: Power 90

Ok, so the cardio part was a little harder than I thought which means I am much more out of shape than I also thought.  Woke up sore in shoulders, back (but not from my ruptured disc), abs, & the back of my right leg, but not too sore that I couldn't get anything done.  I still managed to go redeem my gymbucks at gymboree at the mall with Lydia with me & then some grocery shopping right after, but before that I got Day 3 sculpting done.  Today didn't seem to hard, so I need to go get heavier dumbells to use.  We'll see how my arms feel in the morning though.  Lydia decided today that she was going to play ring around the rosy & london bridges by crawling thru my legs & walking around me as I was working out.  It was cute.  At times she would even stop & try & do exactly like I was doing.  She will make a great workout buddy for me.  :-)  It's supposed to warm back up a little tomorrow, so I'm hoping to take her for a walk.

Day 2: Power 90

Woke up feeling a little sore in the upper arms/shoulders, but I remembered to get all of my measurements for the look at day 30, 60, & finally 90!!  Even with not sticking to keeping the bodybugg on I managed to keep the weight I lost in early February off & maintain it until now, so here goes for taking even more off!! Yay!!  Now on to Day 2 of Power 90-cardio 1-2/ab ripper 100. & as I figured I was burnt only about a 1/4 of the way thru, but continued to push myself to get thru it all, & I am sure it will get easier as the days go by as I am just starting it & I am so out of shape.  Need to start somewhere though!!

Day 1: Power 90

Woke up this morning feeling good.  No sore muscles as I thought I would have from my jog/walk last night as I usually do when I start trying to jog some, so I started Power 90 this morning & felt good thru the entire workout.  Now as it's time for bed I can already feel the soreness sinking in on my arms, which I know is a good thing.  Looking forward to trying the cardio part tomorrow.  Didn't get out for my walk/jog tonight though.  Also forgot to get my starting weight & measurements for reference in 90 days to see how well I did, so that will be 1st on my agenda tomorrow morning for sure!!

Starting the Journey

In 2006, 4 years after my son was born, I found out that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)which makes losing weight 10 times as hard for me than normal females my age with no issues, but I desperately need to do something!!  I am tired of my up & downs, so maybe if I blog about what I try, it will be a written record of my trials & triumphs to look back upon when needed for my journey.  After seeing my friend, Angela's post about using the bodybugg, I decided to get one of my own to try early in February.  I was doing great until my uncle passed away & the trip out of town & all 3 kids getting sick with either pneumonia or strep & then even passing it on to me.  Well it's time for me to get back with the program & start my journey again!!  Going to charge the bodybugg tonight, & cause I also have a ruptured disc in my lower back I opted to start with the Power 90 dvd series instead of the more well known P90X, Insanity, or Chalene, but I plan to work my way up to them!!  So here goes nothing!!
